Introduction

The Deeper Dhyana Yoga would be, the clearer would be the path towards the atman. The deeper we seek the atman, the more rapid transformation begins. Dhyana Yoga is not merely sitting in an asana for a while and then open eyes. It requires proper measures that help in achieving the yogic state. In my next blog, we will talk about this in detail.

There is a concept in the west called "body and mind".

it's only focused on the physicality or maximum it focuses on psychology. So what is it that the Hindu culture wants to offer you? One must understand that the problems of this world are because of the ego that I am this or I am that.

"I am from this nation, I am from that nation. My religion is this.. my religion is that.."

Have you ever heard anyone saying I am from this universe or nature or earth? you will call them crazy. won't you? Have you ever heard someone saying "I am the Atma"

It sounds weird to a normal person who has ingrained mind constructed objects as his identity. Why cant my religion be my identity? You must have seen a pot, right? The pot is made of clay. You can use a lump of clay and make as many earthen pots as you want. But can someone pick a pot and say that "this is a pot without a clay?"

All pots are made of clay but the clay is not the pot. Ornaments are made of gold, the gold is not an ornament. Waves are generated by water, water is not generated by waves. There could be many examples of that. Advaita Vedanta clearly specifies that the body is a chariot, the five senses are the horses, mind are the reigns to the horses and buddhi is the charioteer, Now, if Atma is not taking control of the chariot and just the horse is running around clueless, how will it function well? This is why mind constructed egoism and identifying to that is important.

Problems

Today let's talk about Mind Structure.

Our brain is a complicated object made of matter which overtakes everything using senses. Today we have walked away from the blissful knowledge and begun living in a concrete jungle which has no meaning. Whatever we see on TV and the internet, replays in our brain. You would not believe that just in the UNited states the largest number of people ho live in depression and anxiety are between the age of 18-25. The data shows they are counting 15% of the entire population. Now you can imagine the way we are letting our children living their lives.

A mind is a complex machine. Today modern scientists are not able to explain the mind complexities as much as Vedanta. Many people who suffer with these diseases will go for counselling, medicine/ drugs and a lot of methods which will only throw them further into depression. Let's not destroy ourselves.

People have a tendency of seeing yogis as people living in caves. Yes, the yogis originated the ancient science from the caves but it is not just restricted to that place. It can be applied to the richest person in the world.

Solution

I always say this "The solution of all problems of this world lies in India. It isn't that you will go there and find that solution. You have to seek that answer to seek the spiritual source".

The solution is actually within you, the methods are within Bharat. If we are able to remove the ego-sense and connect to the divine source of this entire universe, we will be able to disconnect from the anxieties and mind related problems.

Clarity

Many youngsters struggle to find clarity in life. Clarity will arrive in the mind when the mind will be away from the impurities. Today the media has brainwashed the youth and filling hatred in minds. If not hate then the internet has become a major source of filth. Youth today surf questionable websites and watch unnecessary things that shouldn't be watched. It could be violence, porn, malicious news and a lot more. Do you think successful people watch these things? No. They are clear about their goals of life.

What is important for the goals we set should be prioritized first. Another thing I see in children is lack of introspection. They don't know themselves. They don't know what is their capability. This is another cause of lack of clarity because all their lives they focused on unnecessary things.

The most hazardous thing about youngsters is to either keep everything in their hearts or going publically showing their false ego and arrogance. Why waste your energy on stupid things? You just broke up with your relationship. But if it had happened it was not meant for you. You will find someone worth. Why waste your energy thinking about the past?

Become friends with some great minds. Listen and read to great sadhaks. Uplifting read and listening will lead your life in a positive way. Positivity is important

There is an unchanging element in you. You have grown from a small kid to a big body. So how many I's are you? the kid is I, the adult is I, the old is I. The "I" is changing/. The one that provides life and power to the body is Atma.

The consciousness and our introduction is not "body and mind". We are apart from this. Body and mind only lead to the material desire and may throw into negativity. If I swear at you, wouldn't you swear at me back? This cycle will continue. But a wise man will avoid it and walk away. all you need is to break the chain of this hate. If you don't do this way then self-created problems arrive. Anything we do becomes a flashback in mind. What happens then? it will create feelings and then actions. Anything you do is just a blueprint of your brain.

You pour pure water, good soil to a plant, it will reap good fruits. Similarly, your exposures will reap the results likewise. Anything good that is exposed to you will decide your journey. Mind management will not happen if you are identifying to the mind and ego. To manage something it is required to detach from this material object so you can manage it.

Dhayna Yoga helps in identifying with the self. There are three states of consciousness (chetna).

1. Waking state (jagrat Awastha)

2. Dreaming state (Swapna Awastha)

3. The deep state (Sushupta Awastha)

When our senses are active. The mind takes the input from external senses and processes the information. Majority of the population today lives in this state. Any work that is needed to be done happens with Jagrat awastha.

Swapna Awastha is when we are in dreams but the senses are also active. Doesn't it happen sometimes that we see a dream and it seems real? It is real but not physical. anything that is sensed by all senses is in physical existence. In dreaming state you felt it, but not sensed by all 5 senses.

The deep state or Sushupt state is when the we experience a deep sublime state. In this state, our mind can not sense the objective things neither it feels the object. This is the third state of consciousness (Chetna). As well as there is no dream in the mind. Such a state is achieved with determined yoga sadhana. It is also famous as the non-dreaming state.

But how do you know that there is no experience in sushupt state?

There is an awareness active all the time. The senses were absent but you know that you have not experienced. So we can say that there is something more than five senses. There is an instrument other than the mind and body. Don't you think?

I will let you think about this. Perhaps you will get an answer to the questions your inner atma is seeking. Your Atma is only the reflection of your of this huge universe.

If you want to experience the higher knowledge, there is a need for meditation.
